DIGGING DEEP NO. 1043 July 09, 2024

What is in your Hand?

Matt 25:14-30

Spirituality is so integral to our human existence. Beyond the private mystery of spirituality (personal alter, worship rooms etc.), it is made manifest in the physical and so its (physical) place is also important for us to dwell on.

Being Prayerful, being the best vocalist, among other wonderful “churchers” qualities and characteristics isn’t what makes you and I stand out as Christians but the doings that are wrought through us by God. Basically, through you, what has He been able to accomplish? Let’s say you are the only channel left; can God say “That’s my guy

Many times we have tried to limit the workings of God to our human thinking, we have so much gotten familiar with God that we believe we know how He thinks. So when He makes those spontaneous decisions, our human reasoning kicks in, and we deliberate, and rationalize and we lose those moments that could have been the defining points of our lives, we forgo it because the instruction wasn’t logical. We ignore the message because we believe I know better, or as the young generation will say, what will now happen to my steeze, if I do that?

Last week’s digging deep was about Grand Aunty Rehab, the one the world called a prostitute; she only had under her bed to offer and she offered it well, we know how that ended for her.

Another fascinating story was that of the Widow at Zarephath. All the widow had to offer Elijah was her last meal (1 Kings 17:7-16), Well, the rest is history.

Many bible stories are a testament to this: The Little Boy’s Lunch (John 6:1-14) and the Legend of the Overflowing Oil (2 Kings 4:1-7) to mention a few.

DISCUSSION

      1. What’s in your hand? Matt 25:14-30

Question: Give an example of things we commonize and God turned into something great.

      2. What are you doing with what’s in your hand? 2 Kings 13:14-19

Question: Are we allowed to be greedy before God?

      3. Consequences of misusing what we have in our hands  2 Kings 13:19

Question: Is our limited understanding of God proportional to our victories?

     4. The distractors will always have a place John 6:7

Question: How do we handle them? What if they are people we respect?

     5. How essential is “the Andrew Role”? John 6:9

Question: How large a faith do we need to get the ball rolling?

     6. Is the third servant really that bad? V24

Question: What is wrong with sitting on the fence though?

CONCLUSION

Remember/Know this, God will never leave you out of the process of your miracle coming to fruition, it involves you. Yes, your prayer activated God, it has informed Him of your “intended” readiness, what are you holding that He can multiply? What did you bring along with you so He could bless?

What we hold can be the key to liberation for us, our family, our generation, and the world. We need to be open to leading of God. It might look small to us or probably just a pen but to God, it is a sword, to God it is the key to locked doors, to God it is the missing piece of the puzzle of our lives. So, if you doubt yourself, please don’t doubt God because He knows better.

As they will say on the streets of Nigeria, “At all at all na him bad”. So, what’s in your hand that you can offer?
