DIGGING DEEP NO. 1036 May 21, 2024 The Spirit, Spiritual Realm and Her Offsprings Part II Psalm 36:9 (NKJV)
|
9 For with You is the fountain of life;
In Your light we see light.
The Bible IS NOT a book ABOUT PRAYER, although it’s filled with prayers.
The Bible IS NOT a book ABOUT CHRISTIANITY, although it has Christianity within it.
The Bible IS NOT a book ABOUT SIN, although it addresses sin.
The Bible IS NOT a book ABOUT MONEY…
The Bible IS a book ABOUT THE KING & HIS KINGDOM.
The GOSPEL is the REDEMPTIVE STORY of The KING’s Children BACK to HIS KINGDOM, through HIS son CHRIST JESUS by the testimony of the Holy Spirit (Matthew 6:33).
Desired Learning Objective:
- What is the language of spirits?
- Why would Jesus ONLY preach in parables and teach in parallelisms?
- How else do spirits primarily communicate? How can their language be understood?
DEFINITION OF TERMS:
REVIEW: See, Spiritual Life*, Light**, LORD vs. Lord?
Previously we learned: The WHAT
- What are the TWO realms of existence
- What are the FOUR senses of the spirit? What does each spiritual sense provide
Physical Realm: animate and inanimate objects, mortal, anything that your FIVE natural senses can detect/experience (taste, touch, see, smell, and hear).
**Soulish Realm: connects the physical to the spiritual; the medium between the visible and the invisible; comprised of THREE things, your mind (intellect, memories, creativity), will-power (ability to perform/work*), and emotions*.
Spiritual Realm: where ALL LIFE and consciousness begins, eternal, everything that your FOUR spiritual senses can detect/experience (NOT the gifts of the spirit… but the SPIRIT). The spiritual realm is like a wilderness and every mortal requires a guide; in our case, the Holy Spirit is our guide; for others, it’s demons.
- The KNOWING* of revelation**
- The sense of TOUCH
- The SIGHT* of affection; John the Beloved/Revelator
- The HEARING of faith
Without these four spiritual senses, ESPECIALLY the KNOWING* of revelation**, and not speaking in tongues, we can emphatically conclude that you DO NOT have the Holy Spirit.
Spiritual Promotion**
“The strength of a tree is in its roots; you must grow in secret first, before manifestation.”
Today we’ll learn the WHY and HOW of the FOUR senses of the spirit
The Bible teaches the existence of an immaterial, spiritual reality, unseen by human eyes. Our physical reality is evident for all to see—although some doubt the existence of a material universe, too! — The physical realm is framed by time, matter* and order (patterns/seasons/cycles/orbits). The spiritual realm is framed by rhythms, parallels and dualities.
BIBLICAL LOGIC:
- Life* is SPIRITUAL… however, since the fall of man, EVERYTHING you see with your eyes and hear with your ears are an illusion
- To read and hear the Word of God is spiritual; to apply what you have read and heard is Life (John 6:63 NKJV)
- You will NOT be judged based on your understanding; you will be judged based on your obedience*
- Those who are spiritual discover the rhythm of a spirit; those who are righteous align with the rhythm
- The rhythm of your life, on earth, MUST become in-sync** with that of Heaven’s
- Until you have the spirit of GOD and you yield to the Ruach Hakodesh* (Hebrew: רוח הקודש) you DO NOT exist in the Kingdom of GOD
- Until you receive the scripture of GOD for your life and you yield to the commands of the calling* you DO NOT exist in the Kingdom of GOD (Matthew 7:21-23 NKJV)**
QUESTION #1: What is the language of spirits?
Genesis 1:1–4 (NKJV)
The History of Creation
1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.
3 Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. 4 And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness.
Psalm 24:1–2 (NKJV)
The King of Glory and His Kingdom
A Psalm of David.
1 The earth is the Lord’s, and all its fullness,
The world and those who dwell therein.
2 For He has founded it upon the seas,
And established it upon the waters. ** Synonymous parallelism **
English poetry: rhymes and meters
Hebrew poetry: we see parallelism when two or more lines of a Hebrew poem correspond closely with one another in order to make a point. There are three major types of parallelism in Hebrew poetry: synonymous parallelism (Psalm 24:1–2), antithetic parallelism (Proverbs 10:1), and synthetic parallelism (Proverbs 6:16-19).
Synonymous parallelism is probably the easiest one for us to grasp. A synonymous parallel says the same thing in different ways in order to convey its teaching. Psalm 24:1–2 (NKJV).
Antithetic parallelism uses a contrast between two or more lines to teach us truth. Proverbs 10:1 (NKJV). Opposing and contrasting behaviors of wise and foolish sons reveal to us the kind of children that please their parents.
Synthetic parallelism compounds two or more poetic lines. In such parallelism, successive lines build on and intensify the first line; cf. Romans 5:3–5 (NKJV).
Romans 5:3–5 (NKJV)
3 And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; 4 and perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5 Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
WHENEVER Jesus wanted to stress a point, He would ONLY speak in parables and teach in poetry (parallelisms). THIS is the language of spirits; both divine and demonic. The strength of a sons and daughters of GOD is in their ability to discern who is speaking.
This is HOW to discern the language of spirits; it’s by this you can determine when flesh speaks vs. a spirit is speaking. Spirits, both divine and demonic communicate with parallelisms (easier to discern) and signs.
Isaiah 61:1 (NKJV)
The Good News of Salvation
1 “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me,
Because the Lord has anointed Me
To preach good tidings to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives,
And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;
Genesis 3:4–5 (NKJV)
4 Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. 5 For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”
Luke 3:22 (NKJV)
22 And the Holy Spirit descended in bodily form like a dove upon Him, and a voice came from heaven which said, “You are My beloved Son; in You I am well pleased.”
Matthew 16:21–23 (NKJV)
Revelation of Jesus’ Death
Mark 8:31–33; Luke 9:22
21 From that time Jesus began to show to His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised the third day.
22 Then Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him, saying, “Far be it from You, Lord; this shall not happen to You!”
23 But He turned and said to Peter, “Get behind Me, Satan! You are an offense to Me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men.”
John 6:63 (NKJV)
63 It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.
Psalm 120:2 (NKJV)
2 Deliver my soul, O Lord, from lying lips
And from a deceitful tongue.
ANSWER #1: According to scripture, the language of spirits is parallelism. Grammatically, parallelism is a balance within one or more sentences of similar phrases or clauses that have the same grammatical structure. Spiritually, this is because the framework of the unseen realm was manufactured by rhythms, parallel and dualities (John 1:1-5).
John 1:1–5 (NKJV)
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God.
The Preincarnate Work of Christ
3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shined in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.
The Bible says that the spiritual realm consists of both the divine—Elohim, His Holy Angels and His Heavenly Hosts —and the demonic— Satan* and his demons.
The spiritual realm operates in “light”; however, light is relative.
A candle light compared to a fluorescent bulb is “darker/darkness”; so also, the knowledge from the demonic is darkness to the knowledge from GOD.
James 1:17 (NKJV)
17 Every good* gift and every perfect** gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.
BIBLICAL LOGIC:
- Light is the Life of GOD (Animation + Consciousness of* God) unlike AI/ML and Robots
- Light is relative
- Light is the Presence of God; whereas Darkness is the presence of Satan*
- Light = Jesus; Darkness = Serpent
- Light is fixed; invariable, ever constant
- Light is that which makes manifest**
- Light is the standard of all life-forms; it’s the highest metric of speed
- Light is NOT the absence of Darkness
- NEITHER is Darkness the absence of Light
- Light = time & seasons** (Acts 1:7-8); Darkness = chaos** & formless void** think Black Holes
- Light is THE fastest and most secure** method of containing/transporting information… think HUMAN MEMORY (decay theory) & TECHNOLOGY
- Light = Knowledge; to become enlightened… think THINKING
- ALL Shadows (darkness) stem from light and are the natural obstruction of light
- If you follow a shadow to its source/beginning; it will always begin at light… think Gift of Discernment
- Darkness is the interference; obstruction of light** think Shadows & Eclipses
- Wherever there is light; shadows (darkness) must appear Ying Yang
- Darkness is the natural obstruction of the Life of GOD
- Darkness is the absence of the Life of GOD
- Darkness is ANY SPIRITUAL KNOWLEDGE** that is obtained APART from Elohim think New Age Spiritualism…
- Darkness is conformity/ecumenism – promotes Christian Churches** unity
- Darkness presents relief, pleasure, indifference to the standards of GOD’s Kingdom
- Darkness affords change*; Light affords an exchange
- Darkness promotes liberty; Light promotes government
- Darkness has its roots in the mind; Light has its roots in the revelation of Jesus
DISCUSSION: If the Temptation and Fall of Man in the Garden of Eden in Genesis 3; the knowledge revealed by the serpent (darkness) was “accurate”, then what was the sin?
BIBLICAL LOGIC:
- Spiritual warfare ENDS when the spiritual gifts of knowledge & wisdom are applied
- ANY command from a spirit that instructs ANYTHING contrary to GOD’s word is darkness* (Matthew 24:35)
- ANY person/spirit/principle that you seek help from that only GOD should provide, you have made that thing your GOD ~ Derek Prince
John 5:33–36 (NKJV)
33 You have sent to John, and he has borne witness to the truth. 34 Yet I do not receive testimony from man, but I say these things that you may be saved. 35 [John] was the burning and shining lamp, and you were willing for a time to rejoice in his light.
Witness of the Works of Christ
36 But I have a greater witness than John’s; for the works which the Father has given Me to finish—the very works that I do—bear witness of Me, that the Father has sent Me.
Isaiah 60:1–3 (NKJV)
The Gentiles Bless Zion
60 Arise, shine;
For your light has come!
And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you.
2 For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth,
And deep darkness the people;
But the Lord will arise over you,
And His glory will be seen upon you.
3 The Gentiles shall come to your light,
And kings to the brightness of your rising.
QUESTION #2: Why would Jesus ONLY preach in parables and teach in parallelisms?
Spirits speak in rhythms, cadence, patterns & cycles; this is why music, poetry, hymns, even jingles, are considered spiritual because they stem from spirits. GOD speaks in parallels*, whereas demons speak in palindrome**.

Matthew 13:34–35 (NKJV)
34 All these things Jesus spoke to the multitude in parables; and without a parable He did not speak to them, 35 that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying:
“I will open My mouth in parables; *
I will utter things kept secret from the foundation of the world.” **
Psalm 78:1–4 (NLT)
1 O my people, listen to my instructions.
Open your ears to what I am saying,
2 for I will speak to you in a parable.
I will teach you hidden lessons from our past—
3 stories we have heard and known,
stories our ancestors handed down to us.
4 We will not hide these truths from our children;
we will tell the next generation
about the glorious deeds of the Lord,
about his power and his mighty wonders.
Romans 16:25–26 (NKJV)
Benediction
25 Now to Him who is able to establish you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery* kept secret since the world began 26 but now made manifest, and by the prophetic Scriptures made known to all nations, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, for obedience to the faith—
1 Corinthians 2:7–13 (NKJV)
7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery*, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory, 8 which none of the rulers of this age knew; for had they known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
9 But as it is written:
“Eye has not seen, nor ear heard,
Nor have entered into the heart of man **
The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”
10 But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.
11 For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. 12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God. 13 These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
ANSWER #2: According to scripture, Jesus ONLY preached in parables and taught in parallelisms because it was foretold that the Messiah would speak and teach in such manners (Psalm 78:1). Everything thing about JESUS ministry was bound by prophetic scripture, to include HOW he’d communicate spiritual realities. For this reason, it requires the spirit of GOD to help us discern and understand the things of GOD because, like a scroll*, the mysteries of GOD are not hidden from us but rather for us to identify the genuine sheep of the divine shepherd. And like a scroll** the mysteries of GOD are revealed to us.
QUESTION #3: How else do spirits primarily communicate? How can their language be understood?
Spirits both divine and demonic communicate with signs/omens/sigil* – more difficult to interpret and requires a spirit itself to disclose the meaning of its contents.
Revelation 1:1–3 (NKJV)
Introduction and Benediction
1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show His servants—things which must shortly take place. And He sent and signified it by His angel to His servant John, 2 who bore witness to the word of God, and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, to all things that he saw. 3 Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near.
Matthew 2:1–2 (NKJV)
Visit of Wise Men
1 Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem, 2 saying, “Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him.”
Matthew 12:39–41 (NKJV)
39 But He answered and said to them, “An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, and no sign will be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah. 40 For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the great fish, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. 41 The men of Nineveh will rise up in the judgment with this generation and condemn it, because they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and indeed a greater than Jonah is here.
Jonah 1:1–3 (NKJV)
Jonah’s Disobedience
1 Now the word of the Lord came to Jonah the son of Amittai, saying, 2 “Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry out against it; for their wickedness has come up before Me.” 3 But Jonah arose to flee to Tarshish from the presence of the Lord. He went down to Joppa, and found a ship going to Tarshish; so he paid the fare, and went down into it, to go with them to Tarshish from the presence of the Lord.
This is where many Christians are lacking; they are spiritual illiterate to interpreting signs.
DISCUSSION: The people of Ninevah were NOT Israelites and therefore were not part of the covenant people; why would the Lord send Jonah to preach repentance to them? Why would JESUS use the ministry of Jonah as a sign for His ministry?
Signs do not point to themselves alone; but rather aim to convey a message. Remember, the saying a “picture is worth a thousand words” and the same goes for a spiritual sign. As such, it’s imperative, as spiritual disciples of CHRIST to understand the message the sign/omen is trying to convey.
Nineveh was an ancient Assyrian capital city of Upper Mesopotamia, located in the modern-day city of Mosul in northern Iraq. During the time of the Assyrians, there was a major eclipse that was so significant it was known as the “Assyrian eclipse”, also known as the Bur-Sagale eclipse, is a solar eclipse recorded in Assyrian eponym lists that most likely dates to the tenth year of the reign of king Ashur-dan III. Every year was associated with the name, an eponym, of the Limmu, the official who led that year’s New Year festival.
Nineveh (modern-day Mosul, Iraq) was one of the oldest and greatest cities in antiquity. It was originally known as Ninua, a trade center, and would become one of the largest and most affluent cities in antiquity. The area was settled as early as 6000 BC and, by 3000 BC, had become an important religious center for worship of the goddess Ishtar; the pagan goddess of love and war.
The meaning of the name is disputed but most likely relates to the prefix Nin or Nina which often appears in the names of deities and could have meant “House of the Goddess” or, specifically, “House of Ishtar” as the city was associated with that goddess from an early date.
The Bur-Sagale eclipse occurred over the Assyrian capital city of Nineveh in the middle of the reign of Jeroboam II, who ruled Israel from 786 to 746 B.C. According to 2 Kings 14:25, the prophet Jonah lived and prophesied in King Jeroboam’s reign. The biblical scholar Donald Wiseman has speculated that the eclipse took place around when Jonah arrived in Nineveh and urged the people to repent, otherwise the city would be destroyed. This would explain the dramatic repentance of the people of Nineveh as described in the Book of Jonah. Ancient cultures, including Assyria, viewed eclipses as omens of imminent destruction, and the empire was in chaos at this time, struggling with revolts, famines and two separate outbreaks of plague**. Jonah was in Nineveh in June of 763 BC during the total eclipse of the sun, which would help explain the remarkable response of the people of Nineveh. Jonah preaches at exactly the right time for the people of Nineveh to listen to him. The Assyrian nation was weak and in chaos in the decade around 760 BC. They had one earthquake (one sign of divine wrath).
This eclipse is also mentioned by the prophets Amos and Joel. Amos was preaching during the reign of King Jeroboam II, while Jonah was ministering to Nineveh, and refers to the eclipse in Amos 5:8 & 8:9. Whereas, in the NT, Joel’s prophecy of the outpouring of God’s Holy Spirit upon all people was notably quoted by Saint Peter in his Pentecost sermon. Scholars view Joel as having been completed in the Ptolemaic period (c. 301-201 BCE) due to its use of earlier texts and perspective on Yahweh and the nations. Acts 2:14-21 NKJV
Amos 5:8 (NKJV)
8 He made the Pleiades and Orion;
He turns the shadow of death into morning
And makes the day dark as night;
He calls for the waters of the sea
And pours them out on the face of the earth;
The Lord is His name.
Amos 5:18 (NKJV)
18 Woe to you who desire the day of the Lord!
For what good is the day of the Lord to you?
It will be darkness, and not light.
Amos 8:9–10 (NKJV)
9 “And it shall come to pass in that day,” says the Lord God,
“That I will make the sun go down at noon,
And I will darken the earth in broad daylight;
10 I will turn your feasts into mourning,
And all your songs into lamentation;
I will bring sackcloth on every waist,
And baldness on every head;
I will make it like mourning for an only son,
And its end like a bitter day.
Joel 2:28–31 (NKJV)
God’s Spirit Poured Out
28 “And it shall come to pass afterward
That I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh;
Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
Your old men shall dream dreams,
Your young men shall see visions.
29 And also on My menservants and on My maidservants
I will pour out My Spirit in those days.
30 “And I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth:
Blood and fire and pillars of smoke.
31 The sun shall be turned into darkness,
And the moon into blood,
Before the coming of the great and awesome day of the Lord.
